Henry Olek

Henry Olek, best known for the motion picture All of Me, starring Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin, began his writing career with the nationwide theatrical release of his first feature film, A Different Story, which Henry also novelized for Ballantine Books. On its heels came another theatrical film, Tulips, with Bernadette Peters and Gabe Kaplan. Soon under contract as writer/producer at Universal Studios, Warner Brothers, and elsewhere, Henry wrote a stream of primetime pilots: Spaggue, an ABC TV movie- pilot with James Cromwell; Ladies on Sweet Street, an ABC hour pilot staring Doris Roberts; Devil’s Food, a cable network film about an anchorwoman who makes a deal with the Devil to stay forever thin, with Dabney Coleman as the Devil’s representative. He also found himself re-writing projects like Opportunity Knocks, Dana Carvey’s first big-screen appearance. Scenes of the Crime, written and produced by Henry, became an NBC anthology mystery series with the awesome Orson Welles as host.

In 2011 Henry ventured into the independent filmmaking world by co-writing and directing Serving Up Richard that stars Susan Priver and Ross McCall and had a worldwide release through Screen Media.

Since 1994 Henry has been a proud co-owner of Birds Cafe, a popular eatery and bar scene in the heart of Hollywood, California.
