CK Harewood is a British writer who has always enjoyed mystery and suspense novels, particularly the emerging detective fiction of the late 19th century and the interwar Golden Age novelists such as Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers.

However, where those novelists often depicted life among the upper-middle and upper classes, CK prefers to set novels among the working and middle classes, hopefully providing a more realistic picture of what life was like for the majority of the British population during these times of political and social upheaval.
