Paul Thompson is a British singer-songwriter and author based in Norfolk, England. He has toured internationally as a musician, and around the British Isles in his mobile milk float stage ‘Bluebell’.Paul gained a Guinness World Record for ‘the longest journey by electric milk float’ after touring more than 1,000 miles at 15mph in his specially converted solar-powered milk float, that doubles-up as tour bus and performance space.During the Arts Council England funded tour to promote his third album, Lost in the Land of Midnight Sun, Paul travelled from his Norfolk home as far as the Outer Hebrides in northern Scotland, before completing a successful run of shows at the Edinburgh Fringe.Paul wrote the songs for Lost in the Land of Midnight Sun after another epic tour, around Alaska and Canada. Inspired by a love of wild places, Paul spent a magical summer travelling and performing in some of the most beautiful parts of north America, and has written a short travelogue of the journey which is available as a free eBook at his website, www.paulsmusic.co.ukIn summer 2017, Paul did another tour ‘Bluebell’s Busking Bonanza’, from Norfolk to Land’s End in Cornwall, raising money for Cancer Research. After breaking down in Somerset on the return journey, Paul applied to do a master’s Degree in Songwriting at Bath Spa University, which he was accepted onto and completed with a Distinction in September 2018.During the Master’s Degree, Paul lived in a motorhome that was converted into a recording studio by Sound on Sound Magazine. It was here, overlooking Glastonbury Tor, that Paul recorded his fourth album, One Again, before eventually returning to his Norfolk home almost a year and a half after setting out on tour.Paul continues to do performances with his musical milk float stage, and his first full-length book ‘Floating to the Fringe’ about his Guinness World Record Breaking tour is due for release in summer 2020.
