Simon Michael

Creator of the 1960's London Charles Holborne legal thrillers

Often described at the “British John Grisham”, Simon was a barrister (trial attorney) practising in the Old Bailey and other British criminal courts for over three decades where he prosecuted and defended enough murderers, robbers, rapists and other assorted villainy to stock an entire series of legal thrillers. Like his fictional hero, Charles Holborne, Simon came from a poor East End background and forced his way into the echelons of the British Establishment only to find it as corrupt and dirty as the streets he left behind. This fictional series is closely based on Simon’s own history and cases, the violent gangs like the Krays which ruled London in the 1960s, and the major scandals of the day.
