Who is the woman renting that isolated cottage?
I was the first to meet Molly Fraser. I own the village shop and I like to know what goes on around here. So naturally, I want to know more about Molly and why she came to Scotland. She takes long walks with her bloodhound puppy, and came across a neglected stone house at the edge of the woods. That belongs to Old Joe, I told her, our local recluse.
Now a young woman has just moved in with Old Joe. Who is she? Why is she here? And why does our notoriously unsociable Joe let her stay? No-one has seen Joe around since she arrived. I feel something is wrong.
I spend my days tending the shop so I can’t get about much. But Molly can, and she is as curious as I am. I wonder if she can get to the bottom of this.
