"TOP 1000 REVIEWER - bwichkan5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent StartVerified Purchase. This is a brilliant read. Wonderful wellwritten plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the wellfleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and actionwith wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings outnext. Recommend reading. Matthew W Seniff rated it it was amazing - 5 starThis is a prequel for the Dark Elements series. Worldbuilding sets this story in dark future. Not much character building isnecessary as the author relies on a near standard police drama. Readers arerewarded with a good plot and stunning intrigue. Psychology drives the storyalong with the aid of some futuristic hardware. I enjoyed this short butrewarding read and recommend it to all readers. Personally I will be lookingfor the rest of the books in the series they should make for some enjoyablereading. Mr Mc'Merkin - 5.0 out of 5 starsThis was free to me and, maybe you, on Kindle but I got this by subscribing to the Author. I read it after his newbook, Unguarded, (book2) which I received to read and review. So, it's shortbut covers off who is who and how it started, much as it should have. I am noexpert, that should be obvious, but as a Si-Fi consumer it was very enjoyable.I did know where it was going due to reading the later book first! It made itsway quite well and filled in a few missing bits, now I need to hit book 1. Ishould re-read this as my reading style is to rush through and I do miss theodd bit, that said I am now looking to keep up with the series. 4.0 out of 5 stars Very enjoyable - NadineI received this book as an advance reader copy for areview....The chipped side of the wall seem to have an easy life. They societyoperates smoothly thanks to the chips that have been installed in their bodiesand how they interact with their high-tech environment. However, they do notrealize it but are vulnerable to a powerful entity that has a considerableamount of control. The unchipped have been relegated to the 'forgotten' side ofthe wall. They can not enter into the utopia of the chipped and are consideredinferior and often exploited by darker forces. This prologue sets up the scenefor an interesting series! 5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent! I want the series! - AlanWhen Atticus and his team are purposely led down the wrongpath to a murder that occurs (unheard of in the chipped utopia), little didthey know that they were being played by some powerful people. The youngerinvestigative team would have accepted what they found...but not AtticusCornwall. However, his great detective skills and his persistence start to leadhim and his family down a very dangerous path. I think when one person ororganisation has unbridled power...it is never a good thing. I thoroughly enjoyedthis and will read the series. Book provided in advance. 2021Sentinelle23 rated it liked it.
