A self-professed princess, Chris Maday Schmidt believes it’s always the write time for real-life fairytales brimming with hope for new beginnings, humor in the messy middle & heart for happy endings. Originally from the Midwest, she left home with her husband and daughter for the Southwest and pursued a bachelor’s degree in Literature, Writing & Film. Her past careers include administrative, editorial and substitute teaching. She is a member of Faith, Hope, & Love Christian Writers.

Chris has been published in Woman’s World magazine, Chicken Soup for the Soul and assorted lifestyle and trade publications, as well as Guideposts’ new book, Exploring God’s Promises: Hope. Harlequin Love Inspired published her debut novel, A Father’s Vow, in April 2024.

She currently resides in Northern Arizona’s Rim Country, where she writes clean & wholesome stories about family, friendship and faith. She loves Jesus, reading, yoga and hiking.
