Laura Canning grew up in Northern Ireland, in the 1980s and 1990s. She now lives on a boat on the Thames and works as a full-time writer and editor. She has been writing professionally since 2005.Laura has an MA in creative writing as well as a PGDip in magazine journalism from City University London. She published her first professional piece aged sixteen and her journalism has been published internationally.Laura is the author of the critically acclaimed coming of age novel Taste the Bright Lights, set in 1990s Northern Ireland. Its sequel, Take the Nights Back, was published internationally on 29 May 2020.
