P.J. Wesley lives in the beautiful Northwestern United States. Her love of photography and hiking brought her to a wolf encounter she will never forget. While on their way to a hike, a white wolf stepped in front of their truck while it was stopped. Mesmerized, she and the wolf locked eyes, as she fumbled with her camera. “I will never forget those amber eyes.” Alas, with no picture of their brief encounter, the memory is still vivid to this day. That is when I thought it would make for a great story about a boy and a white wolf. Later, I added the historical twist to the story.
